Hello! Today I am talking about
on a person that I admire.
I admire to Simone de
Beauvoir, philosopher and French novelist who was born in Paris in 1908 and
died in 1986.
Simone is known for
different works he has written as: guest, the blood of others, all men are
mortal, and trials for a moral ambiguity, the day America, the second sex. His
works concerned issues of history, freedom, commitment that had characters from
the existentialist perspective. In addition, she was one of the founders of the
modern times magazine.
One of his most important
works and the work that I met her, was "the second sex", which deals
with an analysis of the affects how being a woman, describing in the text some
of the characteristics of male oppression towards women. This work became one
of the most important within feminism since sample women from Existentialist
analysis different aspects of women, from biology, anthropology, reproduction,
the history and differences that put women at a background.
One of the slogan from
Simone de Beauvoir is “One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman”, where she
think about what is being woman, reaching the conclusion that the sex does not
determine the behavior of being of women but if, is determined in how they
educate and raise us. This slogan also cause the emergence of different thoughts
and theories like, queer theory.
I admire Simone it mainly
because of the importance of his work in the second sex and their fight for the
vindication of women.
